Thanks to the members of SCV Camp 70 who attended our Confederate Memorial Day service on May 5th at Oakdale Cemetery.

Leonard M. Scruggs, author of The Un-Civil War: Shattering the Historical Myths and Lessons from the Vietnam War: Truths the Media Never Told You, addressed the gathering.             The next meeting of Camp 70 will be at 7pm July14, 2012.

NEW SCV MEETING LOCATION

The Walter M. Bryson-George Mills SCV Camp 70 will be meeting in the Riddle Construction Company building at 732 Jonesborough Street.

DIRECTIONS:

Take US-25 (Greenville Highway) south to White Street

(This is just past the Fresh Market and Mountain First Bank.)

Turn right on White Street and go to Jonesborough Street.

(This is the second street after turning on White Street.)

Turn left on Jonesborough Street.  There are two houses on the left before you come to Riddle Construction Company.

Turn left into the parking lot.  The door to our meeting room is under the green awning on that side of the building.

Note: The room has the same tables and chairs as were at Grace Bible Church where we used to meet.  The lighting is better.  There is a bathroom and small kitchen area.  The heating/air-conditioning is always on.  It's a nicer place to meet.  The only thing missing is a light over the door.

Sons of Confederate Veterans Charge

"To you , Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the cause for which we fought;to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember , it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."

LTG Stepehen Dill Lee 1906
